Preston Engellis

For Preston Engellis, life on the water started at an early age growing up on the North Shore of Long Island. What began as a passion for boating quickly evolved into a career built around hands-on experience, entrepreneurship, and a deep appreciation for life on the water. 

A USCG 50-Ton Master Captain, Preston has spent years operating, maintaining, and managing a wide range of vessels. His experience includes work in boatyards and marine service facilities, where he developed extensive knowledge of vessel maintenance, commissioning, haul-outs, winterization, and seasonal preparation. 

Driven by his passion for boating, Preston founded Over The Top Charters, a Long Island-based watersports and charter company. Under his leadership, the business grew from a single boat into a successful multi-vessel operation offering private charters, watersports experiences, captain services, and vessel management throughout the region. 

Having worked closely with boat owners, captains, marinas, and marine professionals throughout his career, Preston brings a practical understanding of boat ownership and the unique needs of different boaters. His experience spans everything from high-performance watersports boats and center consoles to cruising vessels and luxury yachts. 

Today, as a Yacht Broker with East Coast Yacht Sales, Preston combines real-world boating experience with a customer-focused approach to help clients confidently buy and sell boats. Whether assisting a first-time buyer or helping an experienced owner find their next vessel, he is committed to providing knowledgeable guidance, honest communication, and exceptional service. 

When he’s not working with clients, Preston enjoys spending time on the water with family and friends, exploring the coastlines of New England and Long Island.
