Axopar 45 Cross Cabin FAQ

Does the Axopar 45 have a head?

Yes. The Axopar 45 has a separate compartment for an enclosed head (electric freshwater head with holding tank in the forward cabin. The 45 can also easily come outfitted with a shower in the head compartment.

How many people can sleep on an Axopar 45 Cross Cabin?

The Axopar 45 Cabin can be configured for comfortable overnighting, with sleeping capacity depending on layout and cabin options. As a baseline, the forward cabin provides sleeping for two adults. Depending on configuration, additional accommodations can expand overnight capability for family weekends and longer trips. An aft cabin can add sleeping space for 2 more adults, bringing the total up to 4.

Is the Axopar 45 XC comfortable in cold weather or rain?

Yes. Axopar’s enclosed pilothouse design was built for Nordic-style boating where conditions change quickly. With the pilothouse closed up—and with available heating options—the Axopar 45 Cabin stays comfortable when it’s cold, wet, or windy, while still letting you open the boat up for sunny days.

Does the Axopar 45 Cross Cabin have a bow thruster?

All of the Axopar 45s we configure for our customers come with a bow thruster. They’re imensley helpful for getting on or off the dock in tighter quarters and make the 45 easily capable of being docked solo.

Does the Axopar 45 have joystick docking (JPO)?

Yes, the Axopar 45 has JPO as an available option. The Axopar 45 can be optioned with joystick docking / JPO controls to make low-speed maneuvering and docking dramatically easier. It’s one of the top-requested features for owners who boat in tight marinas or frequently dock short-handed.

Seating, Layouts, and Social Zones

How much seating does the Axopar 45 have?

The Axopar 45 is designed around multiple social zones, so seating capacity depends on configuration—but overall it’s a very social 45-foot platform. Most owners think of the boat in three main zones: Forward/Bow seating – The forward sun pad and seating on the bow of the boat is a great place to spend time socializing and/or relaxing in the sun. The forward deck space can accommodate 4-8 adults.Pilothouse area – A true cabin living space for dining, conversation, and staying out of the weather. There’s room inside the spacious pilothouse for 12 adults comfortably. This makes the pilothouse, which can easily be opened up to feel more like an open sun top than a cabin, a great place for socializing. Aft deck – Flexible entertaining space that can be configured for lounging, meals, water access, or utility. Depending on how you configure your Axopar 45, this space can easily accommodate 4-10 adults.

Can the Axopar 45 be set up for entertaining and day boating?

Yes. Many owners spec the Axopar 45 specifically for entertaining thanks to its open flow between the aft deck and pilothouse, its multiple seating zones, and its ability to “open up” with large sun roofs and doors when the weather is nice. If the goal is maximizing social spaces, the U-Sofa, Wet Bar, and Aft Bench configurations make excellent options to turn the aft deck into a great space to hang out.

Galley / Food & Drink

Does the Axopar 45 have a grill, cooktop, or sink?

Yes, all of these are options on the Axopar 45. The Cross Cabin can be optioned with a cooktop and sink setup for easy onboard food prep and entertaining. It’s a popular choice for owners who anchor out for the day and want true “boat-as-a-destination” capability.

Pilothouse Airflow, Doors, and Sunroofs

Can you open the pilothouse up for airflow?

Yes. One of the most loved features of the Axopar 45 is how quickly it converts from enclosed and protected to open and breezy. With the pilothouse side doors and sunroofs open, you get excellent natural ventilation through the cabin—ideal for warm days and slow cruising.

Can the rear pilothouse doors be opened?

Yes. Opening the rear pilothouse doors helps the boat feel even more open and connected to the aft deck, and it increases airflow through the cabin—especially when paired with the sunroofs.

Helm & Electronics

What are the dashboard screens called on the Axopar 45?

We refer to the helm displays as Multi Function Displays (MFDs). The Axopar 45’s helm is designed around a modern, integrated MFD setup for navigation, engine data, and system monitoring.

Fishing, Cruising, and Family Use

Is the Axopar 45 good for family trips and overnights?

Yes. With its enclosed pilothouse, overnight-capable cabin layout, and flexible seating and entertaining spaces, the Axopar 45 is well-suited for family weekends—especially for boaters who want weather protection without giving up outdoor deck space.

Is the Axopar 45 good for coastal cruising?

Yes. The Axopar 45 is built for comfortable coastal cruising with an emphasis on protection, visibility, and efficient use of space. Like any boat, route planning should always match conditions, forecast, and crew experience.
