Ben grew up between Camden, Maine, and Edgartown, Massachusetts, cruising aboard his family’s J/35 and J/40. At 12, he participated in his first Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to Bermuda race. By 14, he was spending summers working on the docks in Camden, and at 16, he purchased his own J/24 through East Coast Yacht Sales.

His sailing experience includes the Figawi, Camden Classics, and Marblehead-to-Halifax Ocean Race. Those early experiences developed into professional work as a first mate and engineer aboard offshore sailing superyachts.

A USCG captain, Ben has sailed extensively around North America, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean. He completed his first Atlantic crossing at 22, adding offshore passage experience to his background in coastal cruising and racing.

Ben’s marine industry career also includes work with sailboat and powerboat dealerships from Massachusetts to Washington State. Working on both coasts broadened his understanding of different cruising environments and the service needs that accompany boat ownership.

Before joining East Coast Yacht Sales, Ben worked for the Beneteau Group as the Prestige Yachts and Jeanneau Inboard Aftersales Manager. In that role, he supported 30 dealerships across the Americas with service and warranty expertise and coordinated with the company’s headquarters in France.

That work gave Ben experience with the questions and practical concerns that arise after a boat is delivered. Combined with his time as a captain, engineer, and boat owner, it informs how he helps clients evaluate boats, equipment, and their suitability for a particular use.

Ben brings his sailing, technical, and dealership experience to his work as a yacht broker in Camden. For buyers, that means discussing how a boat’s layout, systems, and equipment fit their cruising plans. For sellers, it means drawing on that same knowledge to help evaluate and present a boat to prospective buyers.

His background supports clients considering both sailboats and powerboats, whether they are purchasing their first boat, changing how they spend time on the water, or preparing to sell a yacht they have owned for years.
