Wes is a 7th generation Mainer with over two decades of experience working on boats in marinas and shipyards. He inherited his love of boats from his grandfather who took a year traveling from Alaska to Mexico on a 52’ Grand Banks. His first experience with boats was when that same grandfather came home from an auction with a small daysailer Wes got stranded in soon after on a windless lake in Maine. He settled into his life’s work at age 20 working at the Martha’s Vineyard Shipyard and made his way back to Maine in 2013. Over the years he has gained extensive experience in everything from varnish work to rigging and has operated well over a thousand different boat types. Wes is just as comfortable working on a wooden Herreshoff 12 ½ as a 50′ Hinckley.
Wes likes to be on the water as much as possible and captain’s private vessels in his spare time when he isn’t working on his own boats or enjoying life in Wiscasset where he lives with his wife, four children, and a handful of goats.
