Hey everyone! I’m excited to share my recent experience at Boot Dorf 2024, where I had the chance to explore the stunning Targa 46. Let’s dive into this impressive vessel!
Starting at the floor level, I was immediately struck by the beautiful medium gray hull color and matching hardtop. It’s a sleek look! The owner made a smart choice by extending the lower rub rail almost all the way to the Pilot House door. Since this boat will be staying in Europe, they wanted to be able to pull up to fuel docks without deploying fenders. The local fuel dock can get pretty grimy, so this design helps keep everything clean.
Now, let’s step aboard. The Targa 46 features a substantial stainless steel dive anchor at the stern, perfect for those who love diving. The cockpit is huge—almost too much space! I love the comfortable benches with removable seat backs, making storage easy. There’s also a half-facing bench that doubles as steps to the flybridge.
The storage options are fantastic, with side fender lockers and ample room for lines and fenders. The side boarding access makes hopping on and off the dock a breeze, too.
Moving to the exterior, I noticed the wide walk-around side decks, which are super convenient. The real teak wood throughout the boat adds a touch of elegance, and the oversized stainless steel cleats are both functional and stylish. I appreciate the bow ladder that flips down, making it easy to get on and off the boat when moored.
Now, let’s check out the flybridge. It’s a great socializing space with comfy seating and two forward-facing helm seats. The helm is well-designed, featuring shock-absorbing seats and a wood-grain steering wheel. The owner opted for the powerful Volvo D8 IPS 800 engines, which provide an impressive speed boost. However, this choice does slightly reduce space in the third midship stateroom.
Speaking of the interior, the Pilot House is beautifully finished with tons of storage. The galley to starboard has a dual-basin stainless steel sink, electric cooktop, and a Bosch oven. It’s a functional space that’s perfect for entertaining.
Moving down below, the primary stateroom is impressive, featuring a center island queen berth and plenty of storage. The midship stateroom is where we see the impact of those larger engines. While it sacrifices some space, it still has a comfortable berth and storage options. I found it to be an efficient use of space, especially for families.
The layout also includes a clever design with a privacy door for the single berth, giving parents peace of mind while their kids sleep nearby. The third cabin adds more sleeping options, making it perfect for families or friends.
Lastly, the head features a spacious stall shower, completing this well-thought-out design.
Thanks for joining me on this walkthrough tour of the Targa 46! If you have any questions about this model or any others, feel free to reach out to East Coast Yacht Sales at any of our offices. Until next time, happy boating!
