We recently had the pleasure of exploring the Targa 32 and are excited to share our insights into this fantastic vessel.
With its Comfort forward cabin layout, the Targa 32 truly stands out, offering great access to the bow. You’ll find an impressively well-designed for easy anchoring up front. A stainless steel Lumar anchor is positioned to port, flanked by two large cleats complete with rollers and a bow exit that folds down, making it a breeze to hop down to the beach.
Access to the anchor road is super convenient through the locker, where I can easily reach the windlass switch. I also have quick connects for both fresh and saltwater washdowns, which is invaluable for keeping the anchor clean, especially when navigating through Maine’s muddy waters.
As I walked around, I noticed the handholds positioned perfectly for stability in rough weather. While the height isn’t as tall as some non-Comfort layouts, it still feels incredibly safe and well thought out. Moving up to the hardtop, I found a work light, Jeep lights that add a cool aesthetic, and a manual spotlight. The stainless steel trumpet horns and solar panels complement the roof rack, perfect for carrying stand-up paddleboards, bikes, or kayaks.
On the port side, the fuel and water fills are at a convenient height, allowing me to fill them without bending down, which is a small but significant detail. The wide side access decks made me feel secure, whether I was with young kids or older folks. The Volvo Penta joystick is located perfectly in the aft cockpit, giving me great visibility as I navigate.
The aft cockpit area is spacious, comfortably seating six to eight people. I loved the teak folding leaf table that adds a nice touch for entertaining. The swim platform is equipped with flexi-teak and a center access hatch, which allows for easy inspection of the drives.
Safety is a priority, and I appreciate how the entire swim platform can be gated off, keeping pets and kids secure. There’s ample storage throughout, including deep lockers and a refrigerator/freezer combo, perfect for keeping food and drinks cool.
Entering the pilot house, I was greeted by a cool breeze, thanks to the air conditioning. This 32-footer can sleep up to seven people, which is incredible. The forward cabin features an island queen berth, and the pilot house seating converts for extra sleeping space.
The galley is compact but well-equipped, boasting a two-burner stove and a convection microwave, with thoughtful touches like a saltwater spigot to conserve fresh water. Storage is maximized, and I loved the well-placed outlets for charging devices.
At the helm, the driving experience is nothing short of exhilarating. The layout is user-friendly, with a 16-inch Garmin chart plotter and all the essential controls within reach. The side access door makes docking a breeze, and the shock-absorbing seat ensures a comfortable ride.
In summary, the Targa 32 combines comfort, functionality, and style. I was thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail and thoughtful features throughout the boat. If you have any questions about the Targa 32 or want to learn more about this impressive model, don’t hesitate to reach out!
